Aerodynamic Changes Need To Be Made In MAVs; Micro Air Autonomous Vehicles

Aerodynamic changes need to be made in MAVs. Micro-Air Autonomous vehicles. The simple current DARPA version is okay I suppose, but we need much smaller units and we can add in a few components to make them simpler, increase performance and payloads. I propose that we create a couple of other versions; one would be similar in nature to the picture above. However the body would be a tube, like the exoskeleton of an insect, which can be fat like a bee, thin like a dragon fly or any similar shape in between. The wings would be cellophane and clear similar to the much larger, giant UAVs. The MAV I propose would be under 20 cm in length. It would have centerline thrust like a Cessna Skymaster. The propellers would be in front and back and could change direction, the MAV during this time would most likely want to flip of and roll, but so the wings need to be symmetrical. As it flipped over the trailing edge of the wings interior would be made of a small heavy tube, which would also contain the ion battery material. It would be thinner than the wings spar tube which would be larger and therefore cause proper curvature of the leading edge for maximum lift. The wing would still look similar to that of figure six in this report:

http://wtsun.eas.asu.edu/publications/reas_paper-2003.pdf

We could of course also make the wing spar of a substance that would compress under pressure and the leading edge at high speeds would have much less curvature and could go extremely fast with a different set of motors? When the aircraft shifted directions the tubes would trade sides and the aircraft would start flying backwards as the propellers switched directions in flight cause the aircraft to reverse and fly exactly back wards. As the wings did a roll, it would also now be flying upside down. This is good for surveillance because you could take pictures of the below on the way in and the above on the way out. For instance flying into a cave, hull of a ship, building, duct, tunnel, etc. The optic flow sensors would now be exactly opposite and they autonomous device would continue to fly out the way it came in.

The simplicity is also good in that the tiny motors would be hooked to a tiny crankshaft, which could be made out of micro-material. Also if the MAV crashed into something or got swatted out of the sky, it could still fly on the remaining engine going in one direction, so the mission is not lost. Propulsion should be considered.

The second prototype I am calling for would be similar in that it would also have a centerline thrust, only this one would have a vertical fin as a fuselage. The wings would be shaped like a dragon fly and would have one wing heavier than the other. For instance the top wing, which would have be on a slider along with the bottom wing. As the aircraft went forward the top wing would move backwards so the configuration would be similar to a Stagger Wing Beechcraft. Then when the motors spun opposite the heavier wing would slide backwards causing the aircraft to resume in the other direction in this model the aircraft would stay right side up. And fly away exactly the direction it came. The optic flow sensors could be on the wing that was forward the bottom wing, which always stays stationary and fixed to the aircraft. Thus pointing forward and down so the optical flow sensors and/or sonar sensors would be in the proper place.

5 Easy Steps To Writing Your Appealing Letter

You must write a hypnotic persuasion letter to help you achieve all your goals! Get the boss to give your a raise, induce that beautiful blue-eyed girl to be your lover and persuade your mother to buy a BMW Z3 for you this summer.

Give me twenty minutes and I'll teach you step-by-step my secret writing your own success system. If you follow this 5 steps formula of writing, you'll never fail in this age of persuasion. Keep reading!

My 5-step formula consists of

  • Find Your Goal and Purpose for Writing

  • Write Down Your Goal

  • Visualization

  • Write Like You Talk (KISS rule)

  • Make It Perfect

Let me explain it to you step by step!

    1. Find Your Goal and Purpose for Writing

Every success begins with a simple goal which includes hypnotic writing. You should come up with your main goal for writing. SUCCESS=GOAL+DEADLINE. Once you set your writing goal in your mind, you'll know the path to success. You must hold that point when you want to really achieve something valuable. Please see the example below.

    Bad: I just write.

Good: I want to write this letter to persuade Joe to give me a book for free!

Better: I certainly CAN write a hypnotic letter to persuade Joe to give me a book for free before 01 July 2001.

    2. Write Your Goal Down

Have you ever read the story of John in Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen's original Chicken Soup for the Soul? On one rainy day, when it was too wet outside to play, he decided to write a list of goals. John continued writing until he had 127 goals. These goals included exploring the Nile River, climbing high mountain peaks around the world and learning 3 foreign languages. Do you know the result?

Of the 127 goals that he listed over 60 years ago, John has achieved 108.

    Why?

    Because he Wrote It Down!

You must write it down on your desk, your wallet, your bath room and even on the wall in your men's room. Every time you see that bold goal, you'll notice you must take action now. With many repetitions, the words themselves will send a mighty command to your subconscious mind to make your dream into reality. Try it today!

    3. Visualization

In the Bible it is written "Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." (Psalm 37:4) Also it says to us "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee." (Proverbs 23:7)

You mind think uses images instead of words. Therefore, Imagination X Vividness = Reality.

Learn to meditate. Then do it. No miracle will ever happen if you neglect this step. You can practice writing and persuasion skills in your mind. Practice makes perfect!

    4. Write Like You Talk (KISS rule)

You can't write one sentence, right?

But you CAN talk non-stop about anything for a whole day, right?

Put your talk in writing. That's your masterpiece.

    Simple, right?

It works! Keep It Simple Stupid. Write like you talk. Wite to your best friend. Write to your dream lover! You aren't afraid where to start, go and stop. What you say to your listeners is hypnotic and magic in print.

    5. Make It Perfect

You can't achieve your goal with just one word or an attractive headline, right?

You can persuade anybody with your whole message. The sentence, structure and word combination make you a winner. You must think about the organization of your material. Every word. Every sentence. Every punctuation mark. Remember everything has a common function for your result. You are not training a MVP of the year. You must own a Dream Team.

Top 5 Methods to Manage Your Home Equity

As your home appreciates in value, you gain equity. You can look at this equity, as a portion of the value of your home, which becomes an asset that is not burdened by debt. Therefore, this is a critical financial vehicle that cannot be ignored.

Let me say it another way. For most of us, your home Equity is likely to be, the primary, unencumbered assets of your own, personal estate.

Here are several things to consider, when managing this critical financial leverage:

    1. Retirement

    2. Debt Consolidation

    3. Home Improvements

    4. Equity Lines of Credit

    5. Other

    1. Retirement:

Personally, I hate debt. I absolutely, positively, detest debt. I do everything in my power to completely eliminate it from my life. Therefore, this first method is my own, personal favorite.

a)Leave it alone. Ignore it. Pretend it's not there. Forget about it. Live life as if it did not exist.

b)The equity in your home can become an absolutely essential cog in the wheel of your retirement. But in order for it to work its magic, you need to allow it to build and grow, and avoid all temptation to tap into it.

c)If you can do this, then at the end of the tunnel, there is a nice nest egg waiting for you.

    2. Debt Consolidation:

Of course, the above principals of using equity for retirement may not be entirely wise, if you are burdened with additional debt.

a)If your debt is large and encumbering enough, then you may want to consider refinancing and incorporating that debt into a new, first deed of trust. Not only is this more organized and simplified, but you can stretch the loan out over 30 years, thus allowing more affordability.

b)If you wish to pay off the additional debt sooner, or if the debt is small enough, then you might want to consider a second mortgage on the home.

c)Either way, the interest paid on either the new first loan, or the second loan, will be a write off, and thus, you will gain an added benefit by restructuring.

d)In addition, the interest rate on a second (or first) is far lower, then what you'd expect to pay on an unsecured loan, such as your credit card.

    3. Home Improvements:

There comes a time in everyone's life, when you just want to make some changes around the homestead. If you are in the market for a new pool, a decked out backyard landscaping job, a new roof, or new appliances, et al., then a second loan or refinance is generally the way to go.

a)Not only can you pull out a much larger amount of money from your home, then say your credit cards, but the terms are much more agreeable, stretched out over 7 to 10 years or more, at a much lower rate.

    b)It's a write-off.

c)The money spent, goes towards improving the home, and thus, adds to the overall value of your estate.

    4. Equity Lines of Credit:

It's always good to plan for emergencies.

a)An Equity Line of Credit can provide you with the security you need to ensure that you'll always have liquid assets around, should you need them.

b)This is much more effective than having a large amount of money sitting in a low to no interest bearing savings account in your local bank. Open an equity line of credit, and go invest that money so that it is working for you.

c)It's also harmless, free, and usually tax-deductible should the need arise to use it.

d)Just keep in mind the importance of discipline. Don't use it, unless it's absolutely necessary.

    5. Other:

A word of caution: I'm not advocating that you jump in to uncharted waters, or freely spend the hard earned equity that you've so diligently been building.

a)But it is your equity. You can save it, consolidate with it, spend with it, and use it to invest in other properties, other businesses, other ventures.

b)So your equity is like your own personal bank. It requires no applications, no processing procedures, and no approvals by the board of directors. It requires none of that, because it is yours. You own it.

c)But just keep in mind, that you have equity because of diligence, intelligence, wisdom, and discipline. You've grown it, and now that you have it, another word of caution: Don't waste it frivolously.

Be good to your equity, and it will be good to you.

    Investing As A Sport?

I said last week that money doesn't generally buy happiness, but the lack of it can buy absolute misery. This, by the way, is not just my personal observation. It is the conclusion of some of the most respected happiness researchers (Yes, there is such a thing -- read my book.)

The trouble is that we have to pay attention to money more when we lack it than when we have it. This doesn't seem fair, but the Lord works in mysterious ways. Most people are invested in the stock market, either directly or through mutual funds, pension plans or some other vehicle. So it is hard not to be part of the Panic Crowd. But I ,in all my financial wisdom, have two golden rules to offer. These may not make you rich, but they will keep you happy.

Number One: Place your investments in the safest vehicles possible (Do as I say, not as I do!) and forget about them. When the next recession ends, take inventory and see that you still have investments. Most of us don't get a rush out of watching our investments plunge or yo-yo up and down. Most people are happier when they forget they even have investments.

Number Two: If you are one of those people with a terminal case of Itchy Trading Finger, then you probably would not be happy ignoring your investments. Place aside what you need for the long term, such as retirement if your heart lasts that long. Don't play with this money. Don't touch it. Trade only with "extra" money. The rest of you are asking, "What's that?", but Itchy Trading Fingers know what I'm talking about. They view stock trading as a sport.

In fact, stock trading is a sport. Much more than, say, hunting. Think about it. In a sport, two equal opponents square off against one another. "Let the best one one win." Each faces the same challenges. Each is armed with the same weapons. Each has an equal chance of feeling the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat (unless, of course, you happen to be the Tampa Bay Devil Rays).

Imagine the play-by-play if hunting truly was a sport: "Man is closing in. He's coming up from behind and rounding to the south side. He's raising his rifle. Deer doesn't even appear to notice. Oh, I can't watch. This is going to be a massacre. Wait! Deer has just bucked up and twisted. He spins around a tree, and -- look! Deer has a rifle too. He aims. He shoots! He Kills!!! Man is down. What an upset, ladies and gentlemen."

In real life, Deer doesn't win very often. In fact, I estimate that Man is about 4.3 gazillion times more likely to be defeated by his own team mate than by the opposition. We call this "friendly fire".

Contrast this to Itchy Trading Finger, who stands an equal chance of striking gold or of moving into a cardboard box on the street corner. The stock market truly is sport, for those who choose to treat it that way. Which is why it is so important to put aside -- in safe, secure investments -- the money you feel you need for your future. That way, when Itchy Trading Fingers retire, they can move out of the cardboard box.

For the rest of us, we are happier getting our sport watching monster trucks crush WWF actors. Oops! There I go again, mixing my sports and my metaphors, not to mention ignoring several federal safety standards. May your investments be safer than my WWF friends, and may you sleep well at night.

Onpage Optimization: Essential for Effective Offpage Optimization

Onpage optimization is the process by which various elements on an individual web page are structured so that the web page can be found by the search engines for specific keyword(s) or keyword phrases.

Onpage optimization will not guarantee any top rating within a search engine, only offpage optimization can offer that guarantee. However, offpage optimization is far more effective WHEN onpage optimization is in place.

Onpage optimization is not difficult. It does however take time to make sure all the pieces are in place. Onpage optimization should occur not only on the main web page of a web site, but on every single content page within that site.

The very first question to ask when seeking to optimize a web page is: What keyword(s)/keyword phrases is this page targeting? This article will not explore how to find keywords, it assumes you already have keywords chosen.

For this article, the following phrases will be used as an example: designer argyle socks, plaid socks, paisley socks. Of the three phrases, "designer argyle socks" will be the primary phrase used for optimization.

Below is a list of onpage elements in which the keywords need to be placed:

** Keywords in the TITLE tag(s)

Every page should have TITLE tags. TITLE tags appear on the status bar above the menu bar in a web browser. The TITLE tags for the main page of your web site should look like the following:

TITLE Supersocks.com - Designer Argyle Socks | Plaid Socks | Paisley Socks /TITLE

Generally the formula should be: website name - keyword|keyword|keyword. Avoid using articles and conjunctions like a, the, and. Use the pipe(|) or dash (-) to separate keywords.

Do not "stuff" your title by repeating your keyword phrases over and over. Search engines will ban sites for such practices.

** Keywords in H1 or other headline tags

Somewhere near the top of the page place your primary keyword phrase within h1 tags.

    H1Designer Argyle Socks/H1

The combination of the TITLE tag and H1 tag effectively act as titling tags for your page. The search engine spider will begin to see pretty quickly what your page is about if these two tags are in place.

** Keywords in the body copy

Use your keyword phrases throughout the copy of the body of the web page. Use them in natural ways. Do not overuse your keyword phrase. Avoid using hidden text. Try your best to include your primary keyword phrase at/near the beginning of your copy and at/near the end of your copy. Once, and only once, make sure your primary keyword phrase is bolded.

    ** Keywords in ALT tags

Many suggest that the alt tags on your images should contain your keywords. Be careful. Some search engines see that as spamming. If you do it, don't over do it.

** Keywords contained in the URL or site address, e.g., http://www.keyword.com/keyword.htm

If the primary phrase of our web page is "Designer Argyle Socks", then the name of the actual HTML file would be designerargylesocks.html, designer_argyle_socks.html or designer-argyle-socks.html

** Keywords in the META NAME="DESCRIPTION"

Meta tags are getting used less and less by the search engines. However, it is still good practice to use the Description and Keyword meta tags if only for your own reference.

meta name="description"Supersocks.com is pleased to offer designer argyle socks at low discount prices. In addition see our selection of plaid socks and paisley socks. /meta

** Keywords in the META NAME="KEYWORD"

Search engines like Google no longer look at the Keywords meta tag. However, still include your keywords here. They can serve as a point of reference for you in the future.

meta name="keyword" keyword, keyword, keyword /meta

Do not "stuff" this meta tag by repeating your keyword phrases over and over. Search engines will ban sites for such practices.

    Water Hazards For Young Children

Unfortunately each year many young children drown in swimming pools, other bodies of water, and standing water around the home area. Children must be watched by an adult at all times when in or near water. Children are very inquisitive and love to get themselves into trouble. They love to get there little frail bodies into buckets, bathtubs and such items. Did you know children may drown in an inch or 2 of water!

Always keep buckets and pails, especially 3 to 5-gallon buckets and diaper pails away from toddlers. Toilets are not just a favorite for dogs. Keep children away as they can drown in the bowl. Do you have fish? Make sure aquariums are placed high and above the reach of children. Children will be intrigued by the fish and may try to get in. Bathtubs, kids love to play in them, esp. with water and there toys. Always keep an eye on them and never leave them alone in a bathtub without any supervision. Bathtubs don't only pose a danger of drowning but danger of scorching hot water as well. Set your water heater thermostat so that the hottest temperature at the faucet is 1200F to avoid burns.

In conclusion, always remember to empty out any buckets, pails, and bathtubs completely after each use - do not leave them filled and unattended. Children will find a way to get in them. Learn CPR and know how to get emergency help. As a rule stay within an arm's length of your child. Teach others in the home to keep the bathroom door closed at all times. Install a hook-lock or doorknob cover on the outside of the door, to prevent toddlers from opening them. Do you own a hot tub or sauna? Use a lockable cover on a hot tub, spa, or whirlpool, or fence in all 4 sides as you would for a swimming pool. Watch children closely when they are playing near wells, open holes, or irrigation or drainage ditches. Fill in empty holes or have gates installed to protect your child from falling in. Unique Features that Leading Web Hosts are Now Offering

Some web hosts are offering more than others for the same price or even for a lower price. There is no denying the fact that as competition increases amongst web hosting services, many are looking for ways and means to stand out and be different from their competitors. The result is that web hosting service standards are constantly on the rise and webmasters are constantly enjoying amazing new features that were previously not there. Let us take a look at a few that some web hosts are now regularly offering to their clients.

There are website hosts that help clients publish and manage their own email newsletters or ezines. This is a powerful marketing tool that helps increase sales. Some hosts go further and also offer an unlimited number of auto responders. This helps a site owner automatically follow up with prospects and thus dramatically increase the chances of making a sale.

We also now have hosting services that help you set up set up your own affiliate program. Affiliate programs are the proven most effective way of getting traffic and profits for webmasters. Pioneered by sites like Amazon.com, this is where you enable other website owners to promote your site and products on their site and in return earn commissions from the sales that result from traffic that they have referred to your site.

Another popular emerging new feature from hosts is the service that helps you protect your download page where you are selling digital products like e-books or software from your site. The number of hackers is on the increase and this is an increasingly vital service for many webmasters.

Some hosting services are also addressing the rapidly increasing menace of junk mail and provide quality filters to protect your email accounts. Some even provide built-in anti-virus software so that email that arrives with viruses, is automatically deleted.

Creativity and Getting Outside of the Box

Sitting in front of a blank piece of paper? Wondering where in the world to start? I have a suggestion. Turn the page upside down. Or better yet flip it over onto it's backside. Let it know who's boss. If your first idea is terrible, write it down anyway. If the next one is silly, redundant or stupid, write it down. Who knows, it may end up being a comedy direction and that first terrible line may end up being the punch line. You never know. You are jumping off a precipice into the unknown world of creativity and you need to be a leaf at the mercy of the wind or you will come crashing down with your fears in a ball flames every time.

Throw as much as you can against the wall and see what sticks. I own a jingle and music production company and I had an assignment to create a jingle, positioning statement (slogan), campaign for Petaluma Auto Plaza in Northern California. They have a huge electronic sign on Hwy 101 and we decided that this landmark was our key. So, what do you do with a big sign? It's huge and you can see it from everywhere. It's so big, it's like a monument. And what do you do with a monument? We decided to worship it. So I brought into the studio Jeannie Tracy (from Whitney Houston's band), a gospel singing Diva, to sing the following full-on hand clapping gospel jingle I SAW THE SIGN: "I was lost in the gloom of auto dealers and sales pitches, then I saw a light shining bright standing tall (Where to turn?)... I saw the sign (chorus answers 'I saw the sign') in Petaluma ('Petaluma Auto Plaza')" and on and on... If you'd like to hear it go to: http://soundad.com/sounds/ and click on Pet Auto Plaza. It's a smashingly successful campaign.

Sometimes "getting outside of the box" is about simplicity. I had a chain of camera stores in need of a jingle to brand their company name and a positioning statement (slogan) to bring people in. We did a market analysis and concluded that they were trying to reach two buyers: #1)Professional photographers who were developing their film. #2)New camera buyers who were serious about learning the craft. We came up with a simple line that appealed and spoke to both: WE DEVELOP PHOTOGRAPHERS

Creativity is not something I pull out of thin air. There is a process that I trust will lead me to something spectacular. I throw everything possible up against that wall without judgement or self criticism. If doubt creeps in, I throw doubt up against the wall. If I'm getting bored, I throw boredom against the wall and suddenly there is a humorous side that begins to appear. If I don't need humor, I throw it up against the wall and a new perspective opens up.

It's all good in the creative process and those of us who live it should honor it. It keeps us young because it's all about letting go, letting things flow and crawling outside of the box for a few moments.

Getting the Maximum Marketing Mileage Out of Your Nametag

As a small business owner, you must always explore creative ways to promote your products or services. One of the most effective yet underappreciated tools you can use to keep your company "on stage" is your nametag. Especially when you attend meetings, events or if you're out in the field representing your company, your nametag is your best friend. Not only will it remind people of your name (who will forget your name 10 seconds after they shake your hand anyway), but it will advertise your business.

Think of your nametag as your own personal billboard. And with that in mind, follow these steps get the maximum marketing mileage out of your nametag.

    Create a Custom Nametag
If you're a small business owner or entrepreneur and you don't have your own custom nametag, you are missing out. Imagine you attend your Chamber of Commerce meeting and you get stuck wearing the obligatory, computerized, faded-font, barely-sticks-onto-my-lapel Avery piece of junk. You will not stand out. You will not promote your business. And other members will not know who you are or how you can give them value. Try this: at your next meeting, sit by someone in real estate - those people know how to wear nametags!

If you want a professional nametag that will effectively brand you and your business, consider a small investment in custom engraving. I once started a conversation and made friends with a lady at a meeting of the National Speaker's Association because she had the biggest, most beautiful?nametag?that I had ever seen! She then told me the name of the St. Peters company who customized her nametag - and I drove out to their shop that day! For more information, go to Incredible Engravings at www.engravings.com.

Stay "On Duty" All the Time
What frustrates you more? Someone whose name you've forgotten or someone whose nametag isn't available to help you remember their name? People have a tendency to remove their nametags when they eat, smoke, use the bathroom, go to break out sessions or attend pre/post show activities. Don't. Leave your nametag on for the entire meeting. You never know when there will be a new member in attendance who doesn't know who you are. Remember, as the great sales trainer Jeffery Gitomer says, "It's not who you know, it's who knows you."

Think of yourself as a taxi driver. If you cruise down the street and you want to attract customers, don't shut off your "on duty" lights. Be available at all times for the people who need your services. Because you never know around which corner your next customer will be standing!

    Your Nametag is Your Brand
All billboards for McDonald's have similar components: the golden arches, the food, the lifestyle images, the slogans, etc. They are consistent because effective advertising campaigns coordinate their branding efforts between mediums. Therefore, since your nametag is just like your own billboard, the font, color, logo and company information that appears on your nametag should be consistent with the existing brand of your business. As a result, when people meet you, look into your eyes and then look at your nametag, everything will synergize together as one valuable entity.

A great example of someone who uses a nametag as a branding tool is my friend Tom Terrific. Tom is a speaker, trainer and coach whose company is called "Terrific Presentations." Not only do his name, company and programming revolve around the word "terrific," but his nametag simply says, "Tom Terrific." And nobody ever seems to forget Tom. Why? Because he's terrific - and he has the nametag to prove it!

    Be an Ambassador
Your nametag will immediately identify you as an ambassador of your company. As such, it will hold you accountable for your behavior while you wear it. Your nametag is like a logo shirt - it should be the personification of your company's culture. So wear it proudly. It will help you maintain a consistency between your performance and the mission of your business.

My friend Bob, who is a Financial Representative for Northwestern Mutual, wears his shiny, sleek, silver nametag on the lapel of his elegant suit every day. It looks professional and meticulous. And just like his nametag, Bob is professional and meticulous. Bob is elegant. Now that is an example of how to be an ambassador.

    Silly Is As Silly Does
I know, I know - nametags are silly and annoying. They ruin your clothes. They diminish your anonymity. They draw unwanted attention to certain areas of your body.

But, what if you wore a beautiful, customized nametag that differentiated you?

What if?your nametag offered a small amount of personal information that made you more approachable?

And what if everyone knew you and how you could help them?

Then, the only people who would look silly would be those who weren't connecting and engaging with each other - the people who weren't getting the maximum marketing mileage out of their nametags.

Homemade Cinnamon Rolls from Scratch (in 2 hours or less!)

If I've heard it once, I've heard it a dozen times: "Make homemade cinnamon rolls? From scratch? Are you crazy? That takes all day!"

Actually, it depends upon the recipe.

I have several recipes for homemade cinnamon rolls that do, indeed, take at least all afternoon, if not all day -- scald the milk and let it cool to room temperature (30 minutes); mix the dough and let it raise for an hour (1.5 hours); punch down the dough and let it raise for another hour (1 hour); shape into cinnamon rolls and let raise for another hour (1.5 hours); and then, finally, bake the cinnamon rolls (30 minutes) -- for a grand total of 5 hours from start to finish.

But it doesn't have to be that way. You really can make homemade cinnamon rolls from scratch in two hours or less.

    Here's my recipe:

    • 2 cups of warm water

    • 1/2 cup sugar

    • 4 teaspoons dry yeast (or two packages of dry yeast)

    • 2 eggs

    • 1 teaspoon salt

    • 1/3 cup Canola oil (I use Canola, but you can use any kind of cooking oil) (you can also use shortening, if you prefer)

    • 6 to 7 cups of flour

Dissolve the yeast in the warm water. Let sit for a minute or two. Add the sugar and salt. Mix. Add the cooking oil (or shortening), 2 eggs, 2 cups of flour and beat until smooth.

Stir in 3 more cups of flour. Begin kneading the dough, adding the final cup of flour. If the dough seems too sticky, knead in more flour, a quarter to a half cup at a time.

Let the dough "rest" for 15 to 20 minutes. (I leave it sitting on the counter and use the time to wash up the bowl and other utensils and to clean off the counter top.)

Roll the dough into a rectangle that's 24 to 30 inches long by about 16 inches wide. Spread with soft butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Starting at the wide end, roll into a log.

Cut the cinnamon rolls into equal sized slices (approximately one inch wide each or slightly more) and place into two greased 9x13 pans. Put in a warm place to rise for 45 minutes.

Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes (or until the cinnamon rolls are golden brown).

Allow to cool for 5 minutes and then turn out of the pans.

This recipes makes two dozen cinnamon rolls. If you want REALLY BIG cinnamon rolls, cut into 12 equal pieces 2 inches wide.

Total amount of time needed from start to finish (including time to bake) is about 2 hours.

    Building Character

Names are important. Names give clues about us, where we live, who we are. In some cases they can even tell what we do! There is a certain ring about George W. Bush, you just know he's American! You can almost feel the Texan, and taste the oil

When selecting names try and make them suit the person and place, you might not think it but the name tells a lot about a character - think of Scrooge, of Judas - call someone by those names and people will just know what you mean. Location. Location. Location.

If you are writing a story set in the 1950's then check what names were been used then. A useful tip rent an old film and watch carefully the names in the credits at the end. Listen to what people are called in the film.

I like American gangster movies and get some of my names from popular movies of the day. I'll rent a Humphrey Bogart film and watch the credits. It's surprising the names you can come up with!

Pick names that ring true to the place you're writing about e.g. you would hardly have a Padrig in Spain - it's an Irish name. Tarquin Fortesque-Smythe could be from an American working class background, but you wouldn't think so from the name you'd probably say he belongs to the London G&T set.

Is your character 6, 16, 26, 36, or 76? Remember that people of different ages have different outlooks on life and different values. At 6 you're more interested in a new toy, at sixteen you're thinking of a living toy! At 36 you're worrying about the bills and at 76 - well I haven't got there yet! How would a 6 year old react on a day trip to Disneyworld, would a 76 year old go on it?

It is sometimes true that an author can write better about the opposite sex than they can about their own sex. You might want to give it a try.

Physical attributes and characteristics - a good exercise is to sit down and describe in detail what your character looks like: the colour of their hair, their eyes, what sort of build they are, what type of clothes they wear, what kind of footwear. Have they any obvious marks, scars etc. We have a habit of judging people by how they look.

Get to know your character as well as you know yourself. You may never use it but why not interview him/her. Ask them questions: questions about their life, what they like to eat, favorite films, favourite drinks, where they were on holidays last year, where are they going next year. Does he vote? Who does he vote for?

Learn about the Google Search Engine Tools

Think you know everything about searching with Google? Think again. Believe it or not, there are many tools and features available on Google that can be useful for marketing research as well as wasting time. Learn more below about Google's coolest features.

What are people saying about your site?

Find out what people say about your site or anything else with Google WebQuotes. A Google Lab experiment, Google WebQuotes annotates the results of your Google search with comments from other websites. This offers a convenient way to get a third party's opinion about each of the returns for your search, providing you with more information about that site's credibility and reputation. Try your site name and variations, such as "Big Oak", "www.bigoakinc.com" and "http://www.bigoakinc.com" to see what results they bring up.

    Google Suggest

As you type your keywords into the search box, Google Suggest offers keyword suggestions in real time. It will provide a list of suggestions as you type in your search criteria, ranked by the number of occurrences that the suggestions appear in Google's index.

    Google Sets

Google Sets automatically create sets of items from a few examples - in essence, it determines other items in a set based on similarity. Here is an example of what we mean. Say you like certain authors such as Stephen King and Dean Koontz, both horror writers, but you don't know who else to try? Well, Google Sets can recommend a host of authors who write horror novels or other people in the horror field. Imagine how it could help when scouring for keywords and phrases that you may not think of. Ah, the power of Google.Google Alerts

Google Alerts are email updates of the latest relevant Google results (web, news, etc.) based on your choice of query or topic.

Some handy uses of Google Alerts include:

    * monitoring a developing news story

    * keeping current on a competitor or industry

    * getting the latest on a celebrity or event

    * keeping tabs on your favorite sports teams

    Website Backgrounds

If you type in "info:(your website's URL)", Google will provide you background information about any site on the Internet. For instance, "info:www.bigoakinc.com" will show information about our homepage. Note there can be no space between info: and the web page URL.

Google can show you the following information for a URL:

    * Show Google's cache of the URL

    * Find web pages that are similar the URL

    * Find web pages that link to the URL

    * Find web pages that the URL links to

    * Find web pages that contain the term "(your website's URL)"

    View indexed pages

If you use [site:(your website's URL)] as your query, Google will restrict the results to those websites in the given domain. For instance, [site:www.bigoakinc.com] will find pages within www.bigoakinc.com. Note there can be no space between the "site:" and the web page URL.

    More than a Search Engine

As you can see, Google can be much more than a simple search engine. It can be a creative marketing and research tool as well. Many other features are available on Google's site so take some time and look around next time you visit Google.

How to Find a Drug Rehab in Florida?

When you're in need, the quickest way is the best: if you put "drug rehab in Florida" in your search engine, the first page it finds will be the right one. There you'll find all the information you need, including addresses, contact information as well as some number and explanations to how they are going to help drug addicts.

Just be warned that there are two kinds of treatments: "inpatient" and "outpatient". Unlike you probably think, both of them should be attended for a long time (the longer the better), the difference is elsewhere. "Inpatient" one requires patients to move to a rehab center, while "outpatient" allows them "onsite" drug rehab. In Florida there are plenty of treatments of both kinds - as far as I know the first ones are used to cure more serious cases, while the second is usually just prophylactics.

Detox: a necessary step in drug rehab programs.

Whichever kind of treatment you choose, detox will be the first step in your drug rehab. Florida is no exception here: at all treatment centers patients have to go through the detox. There are three stages of it:

    (1) Medical, when your body gets clear of narcotic. The process is supervised by doctors to ensure the safety of your health. When this stage ends, you may be sure that the most painful phase is behind you and you're ready to go to the next stage:

    (2) Physical detox. When you're no longer poisoned, the time comes to build up your ruined body. In this stage of drug rehab the most important person is your nutritionist, who helps you to create the diet that will suit your needs. It ends at the moment when your body is healthy. The only remaining problem is your psyche.

    (3) Emotional detox. Here comes the last, the least painful, but the most important part: curing your emotional addiction. Every drug rehab in Florida offers you some counseling in the process. It doesn't really matter what exactly they do. All of it works as long as you COMPLETE THE PROCESS. After three-four months of therapy your addiction is no more as long as you don't start it again - and that's why you need this stage. You have started to use drugs for some reasons, haven't you?

What Can You Do To Make Your Reception a Success?

This is something that we've started to send to all our clients about a week prior to their wedding. It has really helped both the bride/groom and their families get the most out of their wedding receptions:

Your wedding is about a week away and I just wanted to email you and let you know a few things that you can do to help make your event run smoothly and get the most out of your time at the reception. Please circulate this email to your parents and everyone in your wedding party. The more people that are in tune with what to do that day - the better your event will be.

    1. If there are any last minute changes to your itinerary - LET US KNOW AHEAD OF TIME. We need to be prepared and can help you orchestrate things much smoother only if we know about them before it's too late. We can help guide you as to the best way to flow from one event to the next. Call or email us with those changes immediately. Thank you.

    2. All formal photos should be completed by the end of dinner. That means - if you need to get a group photo of your college friends, grandmother or whomever - by the time they clear the main entree away - that photo needs to happen. If you pull people (and yourselves) out of the party for a group photo - you lose about 25 minutes of dance time. Yes, the photo only takes 5 minutes, but it takes 10 minutes to gather everyone up. It takes you about 10 minutes to walk back into the room as you will keep getting stopped by friends and family. It's never just a quick shot.

    3. If you need to socialize with your guests - do as much of it between courses as you can. Get up, visit a few tables and then go sit back down and eat the next course. If you wait until after dinner to start walking around - you will lose valuable dance time. Be careful not to get behind in the meal. If your guests finish before the two of you, that is not good either. When the next course is set for you, go and eat. You can always finish talking to people later - or better yet - meet them on the dance floor.

    4. The end of the meal is critical - both you, your parents and the wedding party need to be in the room. Once you start seeing the wait staff clearing plates - you should STAY IN THE ROOM. We could delay the start of dancing by 10-15 minutes trying to get the key players back in the room. The longer we wait to start - the harder it is to get people focused on the party. We will give you and your parents a 10 minute warning before activities are about to get started - use the bathroom, freshen up, take your smoke break or whatever you need to do - BUT BE BACK IN THE ROOM AND READY TO GO.

    5. Once we open dancing up - the more people that come out - the quicker we can get the party on the way. If you really want to help prime the party, both you, your parents and the entire bridal party (and their partners) should spend the first 15 minutes (~3 songs) on the dance floor. Everyone is looking to you to set the tone of the event - if you are out dancing - your guests will follow.

    6. If you have to leave the room (and you should really leave the room separately (never together) - leaving one of you in the room to play host for your guests at all times), make sure you quickly go and do what you have to do and return. The longer you are out of the room - the more energy is drained from the party. Also, if you are standing talking with guests be aware of WHERE you stand. If you position yourself next to the exit - you will draw people to you and out of the party. Always position yourself so you pull people away from the exits and near to the dance floor.

    7. We will be able to play more of the music that you've selected if you dance. If people are not dancing - our first concern is to get people involved before they decide to leave instead. Once we have a good dancing crowd - it's much easier to fit in more of your & your guests' requests.

    8. Have fun. If you are not having fun - how can you expect your guests to be? Be part of the festivities. Socialize, dance and have the time of your life. Your DJ will be there to guide you every step of the way. If you are unsure as to what to do next - we can help. We will be touching base with you over the course of the event and will let you know if you have been out of the room too long or if we need you to help us refocus attention on the dance floor.

Precognition Shock to Prevent Bullet Strike

It is a pretty well known fact and has been proven that the body seems to pre-adjust to changes in advance of events by a second or two. For instance there have been studies of test subjects with finger sensors, which would show the subjects pulse or adrenaline spiked right before they were to be shocked. Those of us who know about this have found ourselves in competitive sports with an almost uncanny intuition. Of course this favors the athlete who senses it and takes advantage of this just before an event on the playing field.

Have you ever noticed that you wake up a minute before the alarm clock goes off? Well then you MAY have experienced this same sensation. Some say in this case that it is pre-cognition of your rapid body change and that while in a dream state your mind is not stuck in time as in the waking hours. It flows thru other dimensions. Others say that concept is bogus and that your circadian rhythm is the explanation. Okay so we have competing theories and neither side has been able to prove convincingly either way one or the other is entirely correct. Some studies have been done in which someone else sets the alarm clock and the subjects still wake up just before the alarm rings? Interesting how is that possible then? Well, some say we can communicate or send thoughts out to those we know. And whoever set the alarm and is doing the experiment sent a little mental message to the sleeper and gave away the time? Bummer? But you cannot prove that.

I therefore propose an experiment. Get 40 people all sleeping and forty alarm clocks which are each set in advance by a computer with no clock on them, just little black boxes; all different times. Each alarm clock is to be set by a sleeping person at different times in different places. Then see if everyone wakes up just before they go off. Ah ha, then you will know if it is precognition of a very abrupt change in bio-rhythms from the sound of the alarm or if they stay sleeping until the end you know it was the circadian rhythm all along.

Now then in further review of this experiment, let us say a sniper is aiming at a group of US Soldiers and the insurgent is about to send a killer round, which will kill that soldier? Okay what if we put a device on the neck, a piece of tape with a sensor in it. The sensor would pick up a faster heart rate and thus trigger a twelve-volt battery to shock the soldier warning him. He would then duck or immediately do something different. This would be good in the event of guarding a checkpoint as well. Since in our first experiment we re-prove this innate sensation and ability exists, now we use it to save lives. Think on this. This experiment will cost $30,000 to prove.

Using Asian Herbal Combinations for Treating Hemorrhoids

    Asian Herbs

I have found Chinese herb formulations quite effective in treating hemorrhoid symptoms. It is now easy to find these herbs, since there are Chinese herb store in most cities. If not, it is easy to go to the Internetand find what you need.

These herbs usually come in pill form; but you can also getstoreowners to mix you a formulation of dried herbs by simply telling them what ailment you are trying to treat. Most herbal stores usually have an acupuncturist that can diagnose your problem and prescribe a precise herbalcombination.

These Chinese hemorrhoid herbs contain chemicals thatare anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, increase blood circulation, and lift Chi. Chi is the life force that powers all body andmind functions.

When checking these Chinese formulations just make surethe manufacturers note that they are low in heavy metals.

    FARGELIN

FARGELIN - HUA ZHI LING WAN (hemorrhoid pills) contains the following herbs: San-Qi Ginseng Root, Baikal Skullcap Root, Sophora Flower, Callicarpa Leaf, Amber, Burnet-Bloodwort Root, Pig Gallbladder, Corydalis Root and Stem.

Fargelin promotes anal health and should not be used if you are pregnant.

    HUAI JIAO WAN

Another herbal combination is HUAI JIAO WAN. It helps shrinks, reduces pain, and stops hemorrhoid bleeding. It contains the following herbs: Sophora japonica fruit, Sanguisorba officinalis root, Scutellaria baicalensis root, Citrus aurantium fruit-ripe, Ledebouriella divaricata root, Angelica sinensis root.

    JING WAN HUNG

A third Chinese herbal hemorrhoid remedy is JING WAN HUNG or Ching Wan Huang (ointment.) It relieves hemorrhoid pain, burning, and itching. It contains the following herbs: Lobelia 27.5%, Myrrh 17.5%, Tang-kuei 12%, Borneol 12%, Sanguisorba 8.5%, Chaenomeles 8.5%, Frankincense 8.5%, Carthamus 8.5%, Pistacia.

You can buy any one of these combination at: www.seaofchi.com

Use these herbal combinations for only a week. If you don't see any improvement, stop using them and see your medical practitioner.

Because there are many manufacturers of these herbal combination there will be variations in the ingredients and quality. Buy only from those companies that guarantee the quality of their product.

Why Would You Use Blogs Instead of a Web Site For Your Online Business?

Why would you use Blogs instead of a web site for your online business?

What's wrong with using a web site for conducting your online business? How can Blogs help and why should I need one anyway?

Combining a website and a Blog however offer a number of superior advantages in terms of traffic generation, marketing and efficiency which a stand-alone website cannot do.

    (a) Automatic push-button publishing.

Blogs are the easiest and cheapest way to have an online presence. For example, if you're using Blogger, your Blog is hosted free by Blogger. Blogs allow you to publish your website without the need to know about any technical or programming issues such as HTML, FrontPage, FTP and so on.

Blogs provide a simple editorial interface. All you need to do is write your content, and publish it just by clicking the 'publish' button in most cases, and you're done.

    (b) Fosters relationship building, trust and 'stickyness'

Unlike websites, which are static, Blogs allows interaction between you and your readers. Blogs have a commenting function, and if turned on, it allows readers and visitors to post their comments, thoughts or opinions to a particular article you have written.

Constant interaction with your readers builds a feeling of community and 'stickyness' factor. You can then recommend products more easily to them, and they would be more ready and willing to accept your product or services.

    (c) Increase search engine ranking

Almost every major search engine has a software program called a 'bot' that searches or 'spiders' websites online to find new content which it can then bring back to update the search engine databases.

Basically what this means is the more frequently you update your site, the more frequently the search engine 'bot' will visit your site, and this helps to boost your search engine rankings.

If you make regular postings to your Blog, you can be sure that search engines will visit your Blog again and again.

You can then place links of your other websites in your Blog and these will get indexed quickly by the search engines.

Of course you could also update your existing web site with new content, but you would have to go through a more technical process, that of using an HTML editor or FrontPage and uploading through FTP and so on.

    (d) Free listing in Google, Yahoo and MSN

The traditional way of getting your website listed in these three major search engines: Google, Yahoo and MSN is slow and inefficient.

A listing in Yahoo directory alone would cost you $299.

However, with the inclusion of RSS feeds by these search engines, you can now gain a 'backdoor' listing which is legal and free. If you have an RSS feed, you can have it included in Yahoo and MSN and your website will be immediately listed in these major search engines within 24 hours!

My videos shows you the step-by-step process on how to do this.

    e) Syndication Power

The most powerful feature of a Blog is its syndication function. Blogs can be turned into RSS feeds, and most Blogging service providers have this built-in function.

It is just a matter of turning it on from within your account.

Once it's turned into an RSS feed, you can syndicate your Blog contents by:

? Submitting to the major RSS directories and search engines like Yahoo and MSN, gaining free exposure and free traffic

? Allow other website owners to publish your feed on their sites, again, getting free traffic you otherwise will not have

? Gain new readers, subscribers and potential clients by letting them subscribe to your RSS feed via a newsreader

Try It Out On Your Team First

Wow! You're brilliant! You have a great idea. You've looked at it every possible way to find holes in your logic, fallacies in your assumptions. You know it will work and you can't wait to turn your new brainstorm loose then reap the rewards of your genius. I know you're excited but before you unleash your great idea, first try it out on those around you for analysis, discussion, improvements, and (gasp!) criticism.

The problem is that the creator of an idea rarely has the mental discipline, the insight, and ability to view their idea objectively. They are blinded by the excitement, the energy, and the optimism created by their creativity. Very few great ideas are flawless, some are seriously terrible, most need at least some tweaking, honing and polishing before they enter the marketplace of commerce.

Your staff and others close to you are well suited to be an evaluation team and part of the creative process because they will look at this new initiative through eyes unclouded by your optimism and enthusiasm if you request their effort in a manner that elicits their input in an "idea improvement" process. Be warned however that the way you prepare them to offer their critique is critical. Don't cloud their judgment by presenting your brainstorm in terms that will set them up to placate you, stroke you, or otherwise attempt to satisfy your ego. Present it to them in a matter-of-fact manner: "I'm thinking of pursuing this project and I'd appreciate you're your input" will get your audience in a more objective mood than, "I've just come up with the greatest idea I've ever had!"

If you lay out your logic, the improvements, features and benefits of your great idea without embellishment then sit back and listen to the alternative views the team offers, basic flaws or minor tweaks for improvement will possibly be discovered. Try your brainstorm out on your team, stand back and watch it improve.

Top Ten List of What to Do and What Not to Do in Relationships

Most of us who have been intimately involved with someone beyond the infatuation stage know that relationships are like a rollercoaster ride. When things are good, they are very, very good. When things are bad, they are very, very bad. As a relationship coach, I have developed Top 10 Lists---one for men and one for women on 10 things to do and not to do in relationships.

    MEN

    DO

    1. Just listen to your partner without offering advice.

    2. Trust and respect her.

    3. Treat her as an equal partner in your relationship.

    4. Stay and support her when she gets emotional. She is looking for understanding, not solutions.

    5. Continue your courtship even after she's committed to you. Continue to create romance in your relationship.

    6. Do little things on a regular basis. A woman doesn't care if you call her at work to say, "I love you" or if you buy a new TV for the living room. The small things are worth just as much as the big ones.

    7. Honor any agreements you have made with her.

    8. Encourage her goals and direction.

    9. Find out what your partner would like to do and then do it with her.

    10. Say, "I'm sorry" when you've done something you regret or that was hurtful to your partner, whether intentionally or unintentionally.

    DON'T

    1. Go to bed angry with your partner.

    2. Try to offer advice or solutions when your partner just needs you to listen to her without comment.

    3. Pretend to listen to her when you really aren't.

    4. When you need to sort things out in your head, just explain you need space, you aren't angry with your partner and that you'll be back.

    5. Criticize your partner, especially her appearance.

    6. Yell at your partner as if you were her father.

    7. Take every word she says literally. Women, when upset, tend to speak in absolutes, such as "You NEVER listen to me;" when what she really means is that you aren't listening to her at that time.

    8. Allow jealousy to erode the trust, love and respect of your relationship.

    9. Violate her privacy.

    10. Forget special occasions.

Men and women have different communication styles, different needs and desires, and different relationship challenges. Learning these differences can assist us in strengthening the relationships we have now and in the future. John Gray began this revolutionary discovery in his book, Men are from Mars; Women are from Venus. The Women's List follows:

    WOMEN

    DO

    1. When you want more quality time with your man, make the time you do have as positive as possible.

    2. Trust and respect him.

    3. Stop nagging.

    4. Allow your partner time away from you without giving him the third degree.

    5. Appreciate the little things he does for you and tell him so.

    6. Make love creatively and often. Don't be afraid to initiate lovemaking.

    7. Honor any agreements you have made with him.

    8. Support his goals and direction.

    9. Ask for what you want! (Believe it or not, no matter how much he loves you, he really can't read your mind.)

    10. Accept his "No" gracefully, trusting that he would if he could.

    DON'T

    1. Go to bed angry with your partner.

    2. Insist he always share his feelings with you. Talking about feelings is more what women need.

    3. Attempt to converse with your partner during a good movie or sporting event.

    4. Continue to "give" in what you perceive is a lopsided relationship when you are at a point of resentment.

    5. Criticize him or put him down, especially the things he does.

    6. Scold your partner as if he were a child.

    7. Use sex as a prize for good behavior or the withholding of sex as punishment for "bad" behavior.

    8. Compare him to a fictional character in a book, movie or soap drama and find him lacking.

    9. Violate his privacy.

    10. Try to change him. Appreciate the man he is right now.
